POSTCARD

For this project, I used Adobe InDesign to created a Postcard. For the background image, I decided to use a previous project of mine to make it more original. I used the Self Portrait Propaganda Poster we did using Illustrator. I was able to practice using many of InDesign's tool in this project. I used the Rectangle Frame Tool to insert the images were I wanted them. I also used the Rectangle Tool and filled it with the color white, in order to make it look more like a postcard. I used a stamp image from the internet because I wasn't sure how to make that on InDesign. I also added my TagBrush I made using Photoshop to the stamp. Then finally, I added some text to the Postcard. I decided to make my Postcard with the same theme from the Propaganda Poster I used as the image. To add the text, I used the Type Tool and messed around with the fonts and sizes a little. For the "Save the Amazon" part of the text, I used the Text Effects I created on InDesign. I opened the Effects window and I added a Drop Shadow in the color green with 89% Opacity and in a 90 degree angle. I also added a Satin effect in the color blue, with 50% Opacity in a 120 degree angle.
Overall, I believe InDesign is one of the least complicated Adobe Programs I have used so far. It was a little tricky at first, trying to understand how the tools worked and everything. However, most of the tools are very similar to the tools we learned to use on Illustrator. So, once I got the hang of everything again, the process went very smooth. I really enjoyed making this project and I am happy with the final result.
