SOMEWHERE
For this project, I used Photoshop to extract myself from a picture I took and place myself on a scene of one of my favorites TV shows. First of all, I picked a scene from The Vampire Diaries and then I took a picture of myself using an outfit that matched with the scene I chose. To start, I opened up the image file on Photoshop and started extracting myself from the image using the Quick Selection Tool. Then, with myself selected I went to Select -> Select and Mask in order to extract myself out of the image. With only myself selected, I turned on Smart Radius, Decontaminate Colors, and smoothed the image so my selection would look more clean.
With myself extracted from my image, I went ahead and inserted the scene to the background layer. I used the Remove Tool to remove the actress from the image, since I wanted to insert myself in the middle on her place. With her removed, I inserted myself in her place. However, the image still didn't look good because the lightning was very off. So, I added a Levels Adjustment Layer to fix the dark and light colors in the picture. I also added a Curves, Hue/Saturation, and a Color Balance Adjustment Layer so fix the colors and make the picture look more real. I also added a small blur to the background because the scene picture wasn't good quality so the blur made it look better.
This might be my favorite project of this class so far, I loved how it turned out. I had always wondered how people used to remove people from pictures and insert them in different backgrounds, etc. So, I really enjoyed doing this project and I am very happy with the result.
